About the event
The 80% Pledge is a literacy pledge supporting efforts that drive towards 80% of children in communities of color reading on, or above, grade level by the end of 3rd grade.
The pledge includes two commitments:
(1) Participate in OR lead at least one early childhood literacy activity each year through 2036
(2) Inspire a number of people equal to 20% of your social media network to participate in at least one literacy-promoting activity each year through 2036
For example, if you have 650 Facebook or Instagram followers, your goal would be to inspire at least 130 people (i.e., 650 x 0.20) to participate in one literacy-promoting activity each year.
